An article about the Indian telco sector in 2006 contained the following interesting paragraph:
On the content front, this will be the year of “Malleable Content” – Content, which can be watched by a user across various devices, be it a PC, TV or a mobile. Services will keep getting more and more customised, be it content or language, giving every customer a chance to define his or her own mobile experience.
This is something I can definitely see happening — mobile phones and mobile content are not nearly customisable enough. There’s a lot more than can be done to allow people to use their mobiles more efficiently.
