Metroblogging Comes To Mumbai

Metroblogging, a blogging company that focuses on metros, has opened its India account by launching a blog on Mumbai. For unitiated: Metroblogging is an online local media project founded and owned by Sean Bonner and Jason DeFillippo. Started in Los Angeles in November 2003, the project currently includes 39 40 city-specific blogs around the world making it the largest location based network.(Wikipedia). Founder Sean Bonner writes about his Mumbai launch:

Can you think of a better way to end 2005 than with the launch of our 40th Metroblogging city? Neither could we which is just one more reason we’re excited to announce Mumbai! Since that has gotten a few puzzled looks around these parts we’re going to go ahead and point out that the city used to be called Bombay (but was officially changed in 1995). It’s our first Indian city and the last one we’ll be launching this year. Stop by and see what’s going on.

All the best, Sean! Hope you spread to other Indian cities soon.
