We’ll be closed for next week and Friday will be the final day in which we’ll post content (unless Qualcomm makes a daring bid to buy Nokia or something). Prior to that, wanted to thank all of you for making 2005 the great mobile content year that it was. We exist because you read us, attend our events, advertise on our sites, buy our reports, and above all, root for us.
For MocoNews.net, 2005 was the year when we built out brand and became the bible for this still-nascent but explosively growing industry. Our principal correspondent James Pearce was our breakout star, much as he would blush when reading this :)
For our company, we went from a one-person shop to a 5-7 person virtual company. We learned a lot, but one thing we realized: stick to your knitting, be aware of the possibilities, be flexible, keep your head down, and keep on doing what you do. Everything else will follow…
2006 will be a difficult and exciting decision-making year for us, as we take the company to the next level, whatever that may be.
Other than that, first week of January I’ll be back in town, and our exec editor Staci D Kramer will be at CES, covering the hardware side of what promises to be a big breakout year for digital media. Thanks Staci, James and Karat for sticking around…
Regards
Rafat Ali
