Reuters is launching an affiliate network, adding another method of distribution to its online video strategy and giving non-traditional outlets access, according to CNET News.com. During the video affiliate network pilot, sites can use the Reuters video player free of charge. That includes up to 20 news clips — and may also include advertising. When it goes commercial, affiliates may have the choice between showing advertising and paying a license fee.
Video start-up Brightcove is working with Reuters on the project.
