These didn’t really merit a separate post each, hence lumping them:
– Telegraph appoints podcasting editor: The Daily Telegraph in UK has done somewhat of a first, at least in newspapers: it has appointed a dedicated editor for podcasting… former BBC Radio 5 Live presenter Guy Ruddle is to take the newly created role of podcast editor. His duties include overseeing the paper’s daily podcast of three audio versions of articles, some read by the authors themselves.
– Gervais Podcast #1 in U.S., UK: Ricky Gervais, creator and star of the hit BBC comedy “The Office,” has topped the charts in the United States and Britain with his podcast….”The Ricky Gervais Show” has been downloaded more than 180,000 times in the last week from the website of UK newspaper the Guardian, which is hosting and sponsoring it.
– Blogster.com Purchased for $100,000: Not really the top domain name price for this year, despite what the release says…site has been launched as, what else, a blog hosting service.
– Yahoo signs license with JPEG patent company” Yahoo has decided to take a license out on the so-called JPEG patent with Forgent Networks. Under the deal, Yahoo will pay Forgent royalties but be dismissed from the pending patent suit taking place in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
