Xbox 360 Not Faring Well In Japan?

If this report via the BBC is on target, Microsoft would have been better off using the units being sold in Japan to fill sales demand in the US and UK. Japanese game magazine Famitsu says less than half of the 159,000 consoles available in Japanese stores have been sold; Bloomberg reports the figure is 28 percent. The delay of popular game “Dead or Alive 4″ until after Christmas is being cited as the leading cause for the sluggish start.
Microsoft is trying to make more inroads in Japan, where Sony and Nintendo rule and hoped to gain an edge by introducing the 360 well before the competitors’ new consoles.

Update: Meanwhile, over in the UK, would-be buyers are irked by the lack of 360s.
