SF-based local shopping start-up StepUp Commerce has closed a $6.6 million round of funding led byAllegis Capital and Granite Ventures LLC, according to SiliconBeat. Angel investors Agile Capital Partners and Peninsula Equity Partners, which put in an estimated $1.7 million earlier (via Gary Sasaki, Digdia), also took part of this round. Managing Directors Bob Ackerman of Allegis and Standish O’Grady will join the board.
StepUp announced last month that it would host local shopping sites for Internet Broadcasting; the agreement calls for StepUp to match consumers with local retailers on 48 IBSYS sites.
