Nickelodeon, the kids-focused TV and online division of Viacom, has bought out GoCityKids, an online city directory and resource for both visiting and local families. The site allows parents to search for “do-together” activities, keeps them informed of key dates for local events and attractions, and can be searched by a kids’ age and activity preference.
The five-year-old GoCityKids.com will broaden its reach from 14 to 20 cities by end of Q1 2006. GoCityKids President and Founder, Clare Ellis, former editor of Family Fun Magazine and BabyCenter.com, will become part of the Nickelodeon Online team, serving as Editorial Director.
