— EA and JAMDAT together plan to publish over 50 games for mobile phones in the first twelve months following the completion of the acquisition
— Upon closing, JAMDAT CEO Mitch Lasky will lead EA’s mobile games business worldwide. The mobile businesses will be combined into one team.
Reuters: EA CEOLarry Probst told Reuters the deal would enhance the company’s relationships with mobile carriers. “It’s a very strategic acquisition for us,” said Probst, who expects the purchase to have a near-term impact on its U.S. business and longer term effects in Europe and Asia, key markets for mobile gaming.
