Sony Pictures Digital (SPD), an operating unit of Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) oversees the activities of SPE’s digital production and online assets. Sony Pictures Digital Sales and Marketing is currently seeking a Director of Mobile Business Development with global talent for selling strategic products and services to mobile operators, for Sony Pictures Mobile entertainment products in North America. The position reports to the Vice President, Mobile Sales, and is based in Culver City, California.

This position will be responsible for managing business development aspects of the growing Sony Pictures Mobile direct-to-consumer business. Ultimately, the Director will be responsible for achieving revenue and profitability targets for content sold directly to consumers from Sony Pictures mobile web sites, WAP sites, short-code programs, affiliate programs, and strategic partnerships. The selected individual will be responsible for sourcing affiliate partners, and will work closely with the marketing and product teams to define strategy for short code placements, promotions, affinity marketing partnerships and strategic relationships to drive traffic and sales. The Director will negotiate contracts and work with all parties for the fulfillment of those agreements.

Responsibilities include:

– Create a business development strategy to meet revenue and profitability targets

– Develop and manage strategic relationships with key partners that have common target segments

– Establish short and long term sales strategies

– Provide feedback to product teams (games, video & personalization products) to aid in defining content attributes, positioning, selection and pricing

– Identify and recommend opportunities for improvement in terms of productivity and sales performance

– Cultivate a team of business development managers and coordinators as the business grows

Requirements:

– A minimum of 8 years of business experience in marketing, sales, business development, or e-commerce.

– Experience in business development, partner marketing, alliances in the wireless or e-commerce markets.

– Strong leader in opening up new markets.

– A solid working knowledge of the mobile products and services industry.

– Ability to develop and execute strategic business development plans.

– Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with senior customer executives

– Strong strategic thinking and negotiation skills

– Well developed written and oral communication and interpersonal skills

– Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Requirements:

– Experience in building mobile or online portal business

– Experience in mobile games, ring tones, or other mobile media

– Demonstrated success in meeting sales forecasts and growing revenue through innovative partnerships

– A strong knowledge of the mobile operator business models

– MBA
