So says AP Reuters in a story, in some contradiction to the WSJ/NYT stories from yesterday…it says it is still a two-horse race bwteen Google and Microsoft, to woo AOL.
At least one more round of discussions is planned with each of the two parties, the story says, and a deal might be done before Christmas.
Some new news: Comcast is now also seeking a separate arrangement with AOL, regardless of the outcome. It is discussing how it can market its high-speed Internet service to AOL’s dwindling but still large dialup customer base, among other topics.
Updated: USA Today: “We are not interested in selling AOL,” CEO Richard Parsons said at a press briefing before a speech in LA.
