WebIndia123.com: Close on the heels of Intel Chairman Craig Barret’s visit to India, another high profile global CEO is also paying a visit to the country. Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates will be in the country starting December 6 for four days.
”India is very high on Microsoft’s priorities and the company is optimistic about further investment in the country. It is our talent which has put India on the global IT map and Mr Gates’ visit would add momentum to Microsoft’s operations in India,” Microsoft India Chairman Ravi Venkatesan said.
Gates is scheduled to interact with senior government and business leaders from across Asia. He will address a Microsoft Government Leaders Forum in the national capital followed by a CEO Forum and a Developers Forum in Bangalore on December 9, 2005.
“The IT giant recently forayed into the consumer segment in India and showcased a wide range of the latest Windows powered consumer products including the Windows Media Center 2005, digital music devices, Smart Phones, as well as educational software for the home user. The company also outlined an ambitious retail strategy, and announced that Microsoft will partner with over 500 retail centers in India within the next six months,” the report said.
