Spanish mobile content portal Zed, now owned by Spanish multimedia consortium Wisdom Group, has opened up offices in U.S., in Miami. Wisdom bought the company last year from Telia Sonera, for $36.7 million.
It now operates in 13 countries in Europe and Asia, and said it is the world’s second biggest mobile content company with $165 million in revenues in 2004.
In U.S., it will be advertising on MTV, MTV2 and Fuse as well as other media. Its services are
currently available to Cingular and T-Mobile customers, and will be expanded to additional service providers throughout the fall.
[Just an aside: Miami is becoming a major mobile content city, mainly because of big Hispanic/Latin market…another big European mobile content company Buongiorno Vitaminic has its U.S. HQs in Miami)
