Portable Video Universe Keeps Expanding; Veoh Makes 3,000 Free Videos Ready For IPods

One great way to get some consumer-press publicity these days — make it easy for content to be viewed on video iPods. Internet video start-up Veoh, self-dubbed as “the first Internet Television Peercasting Network,” is now offering 3,000 free video downloads for video iPod users. Veoh has converted the videos to QuickTime for iPod viewing and Veoh users can add them to their iPods by adding an RSS feed to their iTunes account. Nothing as glam as “Lost” but free has its own allure. It’s the first foray into mobile devices for the company that until now has been built around PC/Mac full-screen viewing and broadcast-quality program sharing.
Veoh is far from the only company tapping into mobile video or tying it in to the iPod. Guba.com already has an iPod feature.
