Podcasting: Hijacking Threat; PodSearch; Economics

Hijack Threat: Erik Marcus of Vegan.com and “Erik’s Diner” podcasts reports having his RSS feed hijacked by someone who redirected the feed to his own url, built up the traffic and then demanded payment to keep the links — and most of the traffic — alive. Erik demurred and lost 75 percent of his traffic. Legal actions is being considered. Moral: You can’t be too careful about keeping track of your content and urls. Update: More from eWeek.

Podcast Search: One of the most frustrating aspects of podcasting for me is the inability to decipher contents of many podcasts without listening all the way through, something that’s not always practical on deadline. Podzinger, blinkx and Podscope are among those trying to take users beyond the metadata and straight to the info they want.
