Siren Systems, a San Francisco-based developer of an online music search engine, has raised around $1.3 $2.3 million in first round funding, according to a regulatory filing, picked up by PE Week Wire. Backers include Amicus Capital.
The company’s “Soundflavor” engine helps consumers and music professionals to discover, sample, and purchase music by recommending songs based on the musical, lyrical and cultural aspects of songs they like, or via specific search criteria, the company says.
