Amazon continues to combine celebrities, charitable giving and stunts, this time with the goal of fundraising for Katrina relief during its busiest season. (Amazon-related sites have already sold more than 44 million items since Nov. 1.) More than a dozen celebs will be paired with exclusive content every weekday through Dec. 20; each celeb gets to pick a favorite relief fund for donations. The series launches Wednesday with a recently recorded unreleased song entitled “Louisiana” and a personal message from Tim McGraw, who kicked off the project with a visit to New Orleans Tuesday. Bill Clinton is taking part as are Clay Aiken, David Beckham, Blondie, Bon Jovi, Kelly Clarkson, Faith Hill, Elton John, Paul McCartney, Carly Simon, Rob Thomas, Christy Turlington, and Trisha Yearwood. In the past 12 months, Amazon has funneled to the Red Cross more than $28.5 million for Katrina and the December 2004 tsunami. Press release.
