I bumped into Naresh Gupta, a Senior Vice President at Adobe Systems Inc., at Bangalore airport. He used to head India operations of Adobe till a few months ago. But, it seems he still heads it since nobody has joined in his place. Now it transpires that Naresh is coming back to the country from his current base at San Jose, CA. Naresh is a very important guy at Adobe. He led Adobe’s acquisition of Macromedia globally.
In India, Naresh will head both Adobe and Macromedia’s operations. Which he means he would be shuttling between Noida (near Delhi, which is Adobe India’s HQ) and Bangalore (Macromedia’s). So Naresh doesn’t want to do that too often. The solution: He wants a good hand to look after Macromedia’s operations in Bangalore. It has some 550 people in the Bangalore campus. The broad qualification is that the he/she should be a good technology person, and senior enough to head an operation as big as 500 people.
