I’m sure Apple may have some issues with it, but this is nifty…shows you the video economy which can develop around iPod and other portable players: A new Massachusetts-based service called TVMyPod offers users the opportunity to buy a video iPod and DVDs, which it will rip and pre-load onto the video iPod for you.
The site’s selling the video iPod, and a bunch of TV show and movies DVDs, sports DVDs and of course music DVDs, which it will rip for you, convert into iPod-friendly videoformat, and load onto the new iPod. This is akin to some music-conversion services which offer similar services for iPod or other MP3 players.
Some more info in the release…
The company also plans to offer the service to users who have already purchased iPods, and is also toying with the idea of a subscription service to periodically provide iPod users with new video content.
