Assess My User-Generated Content

Assess My Breasts LogoWhen people from SceneWorx saw the Assess My Breasts website which is associated with lad-mag Nuts the first thing they thought (well, one of the first things they thought) was “Gee, that’s work great on mobile”. Well, I’m guessing that’s what happened…
There are some interesting aspects to this service beyond the normal “babe wallpaper”. First, this is a logical application of user-generated content, ie women sending in images of their breasts. The feature is user-generated in the magazine and website as well but it’s a lot easier to submit with a mobile phone than the two other methods. The images are submitted via video short code, which adds a level of authentication.
“By using Video Short Codes the video has to be recorded live to the server (meaning that it is easy to see if someone is consenting and stored clips on someone’s phone cannot be submitted at a later stage),” Marc Melton from SceneWorx told MocoNews.
It’s also another way for people to be involved in the “Nuts community”, which is desirable by just about any publication.
The two companies checked with UK regulator ICSTIS and its mobile-phone specialised subsidiary IMCB. “They were happy with the content but advised care in ensuring clips did not cross over from being simply playful, fun or titillating to becoming clearly sexual. Our experienced moderation partner was briefed accordingly,” said Melton. They were also advised to “advertise in context” but since pretty much all the promotion will be done through the magazine or website that’s not really an issue. The main points of the T&C (age, etc) appear on the mobile screen before the user can continue.
