OnTheRun with Tablet PCs- #4

Otr_tpc_cover_art_2It is show time again and OnTheRun with Tablet PCs #4 finds Marc Orchant and James Kendrick having a discussion about many things pertaining to the Tablet PC.  Marc gives us an update about his trip to New York City for the Weblogs, Inc. blogger retreat and fills us in how the Gateway Convertible Notebook fared in the Big Apple.  We discuss the Office 12 beta release that went live this past week and what features each of us is looking forward when the suite gets released next year that will help us get the most out of our Tablet PCs.  The folks at Mindjet have been busy releasing plug-ins for MindManager which can help maximize the use of that program for Tablet owners and we talk about a couple of those.  HP has pulled the venerable tc1100 hybrid Tablet PC off their website driving home the fact the successful model line is truly discontinued and we talk about that a little, including a tip for present owners to make sure they can find the accessories they need.

I’m a recent adopter of a convertible tablet pc. Unfortunately the screen has been giving me a bit of trouble. There are these tiny little white specks “on” the screen. I can’t wipe them off and they aren’t dead pixels.

Any ideas or advice?
I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks for the show guys! I’ve been trying to continue to love Copernic Desktop Search and you helped me convert and try MSNDS. I’ve just installed it an it’s madly indexing, so we’ll see. A year ago CDS could find any email in any folder almost instantly. I’ve even had to use the built-in ‘find’ tool in Outlook to get what I was searching for…embarrassing. Anyway, thanks for the show! I’ve enjoyed every one.

Great Show! Enjoyed all the subjects discussed… especially the desktop search and office beta discussions. I’m a recent convert – Recently bought an HP 4200 and absolutly *love* it! keep up the good work!
