Premium Broadband Video Service CNN Pipeline Starts Private Beta

It’s taken a tad longer than CNN execs thought it might when paidContent first talked to them about their combo free/premium video plans last spring but CNN Pipeline is finally in beta and approaching launch. Publish.com has screenshots of the beta, which shows four unique streams and offers VOD, although it’s a little hard to judge a streaming broadband video experience from static images. [ItThe desktop application requires a Windows .Net install and is Windows only, according to Publish.com. Clarification added 11/18: Steve Bryant points out in the comments that Pipeline is accessible to Macs via web browser; the desktop application is Windows only.]
TVNewser reports via a tipster that the cost will run $25 annually for service Monday through Friday 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. eastern or $.99 for a trial daypass.
