BW has the scoop on some major changes being planned at Motorola, following the stinging it got after the Rokr-iTunes-Cingular phone failed to make any significant headway in the market. The new Rokr will be released in Q1 next year, and will have a 1 megapixel camera, a 3.5 millimeter earphone jack (same as the iPod uses), and enough storage capacity to hold 1,000 songs.
The current phone’s basic design will be replaced by a sleek new look, which will be an elegant slider format. Apparently a few things haven’t been decided yet: As to whether the new ROKR will be compatible with iTunes, Motorola says that’s up to Cingular and Apple, says Moto.
