Google to put city-wide WiFi in Mountain View

Google has received permission from their home city of Mountain View, California to have access to public light poles to place wireless access points for citywide WiFi coverage. All installation and maintenance costs will be borne by Google so the city will get a totally free ride from this. Google’s intent is to show officials in large cities that Google can deploy citywide WiFi networks anywhere.
