Economy.com, one of my favorite economic info websites before it went all-subscription, has been bought out by Moody’s, for $27 million. The transaction was funded by cash on hand and closed today.
The acquisition will “deepen Moody’s analytical capabilities to broader areas of economic and demographic research, expand the range of products and services offered to institutional customers and introduce new customers to Moody’s”.
The company, to be renamed Moody’s Economy.com, will continue to be jointly managed by Getman and Mark Zandi, Chief Economist.
