Industry Moves: Lacey New Marketing Head Of ESPN; Maitra To Top Content Post At TiVo; Brown Joins Bo

Katie Lacey, SVP-Marketing, ESPN: After a lengthy searchj, ESPN is turning to Pepsi-Cola vet Lacey to head marketing across the multi-platform Disney subsidiary. Lacey will oversee all marketing and related activities, including branding for ESPN and ABC Sports. She comes on just ahead of the full rollout of Mobile ESPN. She’ll be based in New York and report to Sean Bratches, EVP-sales and marketing.

Tara Maitra, VP/GM — content services, TiVo: In a sign of how seriously TiVo and its broadband partners take content, Maitra is moving to TiVo from Comcast, where, as senior director of content development, she was responsible for “Select On Demand.” Before that she was EVP/GM Primedia Digital Video. Maitra will be responsible for developing unique content offerings for broadband delivery and relationships with content companies. She will report to Edward Lichty, VP-corporate development.

Merrill Brown, Director, Smashing Ideas: To his already interesting portfolio, Brown adds board member of the Seattle ad agency specializing in rich meda and wireless content for youth/tweens.
