Comedy Time is filming the 26th annual Seattle International Stand-Up Comedy Competition, which runs through Nov. 28, to generate mobile content. “Comedy Time is filming — and paying — the comics, then offering the content to 500,000 subscribers on MobiTV and via Sprint, Cingular and Amp’d.”
I was particularly interested in a comment from CEO David Goldman: “A lot of people complain that you go to a comedy club and don’t hear any jokes…We give them jokes.” Jokes are a dying art… most comedians these days tell humorous anecdotes or witty one-liners… maybe mobiles will revive the joke — although all those forwarded e-mails are still dancing on the grave…
