Japanese Dwango Acquires Game Maker

Japanese mobile game developer and publisher Dwango has announced that the company is to acquire an 80 percent stake in fellow Japanese developer Spike. The remaining 20% of the company will be split off into a new company called Spikey (ow).
Spike developes console games, and a previous acquisition in April saw Dwango take a controlling share in Chunsoft, also a developer of console games. The two companies seem to have some hit games, and there is the expectation that Dwango will be releasing them on mobiles…
