Photo Sharing/Search Site Gets $4 Million Funding

Riya, which is looking to change the face of digital-image searching, has raised a $4 millionfirst round of funding from Leapfrog Ventures and BlueRun Ventures, according to VentureWire.

The Redwood City, CA-based startup has been creating some buzz with its pics search and recognition-tagging technology. As this story explains, Riya’s a system that’s smart enough to recognize stuff in pictures after being trained–faces, text, objects–and then auto-tags all the photos in a folder containing all that stuff.
