Finland has become the first European country to open a mobile TV license process…the license is for DVB-H mobile streaming Tv services and the holder will be responsible for the transmission network and management of the multiplex. It will be a 20 year license.
Mobile TV have previously been tested in a trial network in the greater Helsinki region. Digital TV programmes are currently transmitted in three other digital broadcasting networks in Finland, but not on mobiles.
