Televisa Launches Mexico Music Service

Televisa, Mexico’s bigest TV network, has launched Latin America’s first online musicstore (so they claim..I thouhgt I had heard of something before) with the backing of Universal Music, Sony BMG, Warner Music and EMI. Service also includes content from Mexican labels Urtext, Multimusic, IM Discos and Mexican Records.

The Tarabu service has 300,000 songs for download in Mexico for 13 pesos ($1.21) each. Service expects to have 1 million songs by spring.

The site aims to have rights for the U.S. and the rest of the Americas by early 2006.
