Moto Launches New Razr With iTunes; Rokr Prices Slashed

Motorola has launched a four new versions of its hugely popular Razr phone, and one of the versions will include iTunes and other new features. The new quad-band handset will be only the second phone with iTunes.
iTunes Razr: The RAZR V3i also features a 1.23 megapixel digital camera, microSD (TransFlash) card slot, Bluetooth, dual color screens, and an updated design with a new spun metal look. The phone will use a mini-USB stereo headset. There’s no information provided regarding music storage capacity and whether the new RAZR will be crippled with a 100-song cap like the ROKR [but that’s the assumption].
BetaNews: Motorola said that the feature would not be available in all regions and would be carrier dependent. If iTunes was not preinstalled, Motorola’s own Digital Music Player would be included in its place.
AppleInsider: Motorola did not announce which carrier would offer the new phones, but Cingular seems a likely choice for RAZR V3i and candy-colored models, while sources indicate that Verizon will eventually begin carrying the CDMA version of the RAZR.

Meanwhile, the original iTunes phone, the Rokr, has been a damp squib, and it seems in response, Cingular has slashed the phone prices. When the phone was initially introduced, Cingular started selling it for $249.99 with a two year contract. Over the past weekend the operator cut the price by $100 to $149.99.
