Well, if it is not TV, then might as well be new media: ESPN has tied up with National Hockey league for new media and ESPN Classic rights…the agreement includes rights for new media platforms, including highlights for Mobile ESPN, data rights, the re-airing of recent and archival games on ESPN Classic and more.
The rights include video and data rights to ESPN’s new media assets, including: ESPN.com; Mobile ESPN; ESPN360; Mobile ESPN Publishing; and ESPNDeportes.com.
Each of the platforms will now be able to deliver video highlights, interviews and more, and, with the exception of Mobile ESPN Publishing, will have access to the NHL’s real-time data feeds for scores, stats and information.
This follows a similar deal by ESPN with FIFA World Cup soccer last week.
