Friends Reunited, the UK community site (much like U.S. site Classmates.com), which has been on the block for some time, might be bought out by UK broadcaster ITV. ITV hasw tabled a bid in excess of $250 million, trumping offers from rival bidders, including BT.
ITV, if it wins the big, will position itself as a provider of local content to communities around the country…its fits perfectly with ITV Local, launched last month as a pilot broadband-TV service in Brighton and Hastings.
