Some more interesting details emerge of cable companies’ plans to launch wireless services…it is expected that Sprint will announce deals with Comcast, Time Warner ‘s cable division and Cox as early as today, on leasing its network, for cable cos to launch their own mobile and other related services. Among the serviecs planned, as described in this story:
– There will be wireless and wireline convergence, with one number, and seamless moving in and out of the house.
– Some features that would allow customers to stream or download TV and Internet content into their phones wirelessly and to use the phones to program their DVRs to tape TV shows.
– The service, which isn’t expected to be launched until next year, will be marketed by the cable companies and carry the brand of both Sprint and the cable operators.
