After some speculation over the last two weeks, Sprint Nextel has signed deals with three cable companies to offer own-branded wireless service, Reuters says, quoting sources…These three are Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Cox. The deal could be announced as soon as Wednesday.
As the story says, the deal could help speed the next generation of media and communication services. It also gives cable companies a “quadruple-play” portfolio of products–cable TV, digital phone, high-speed Internet and wireless phone services–to compete against telcos like Verizon and SBC intent on offering video services.
