NPR‘s podcasting numbers are blockbuster: 4 million downloads in the two months since it launched. Since its August 31 premiere, all 17 of the NPR offerings have consistently ranked among iTunes’ Top 100 Podcasts, with several appearing daily in the Top 10, says NPR.
According to NPR tracking, its most-downloaded daily podcast is “Story of the Day,” a news report or feature chosen by NPR staff, and its top weekly podcast is the “All Songs Considered” feature, an extension of the popular online-only program that highlights artists, reviews, interviews and other music content.
Acura is a main sponsor for NPR podcasts and some estimates say that this is probably the biggest podcast advertising buy till date.
