The ugly battle for Australian real estate site Realestate.com.au continues: News Corp, which has been figthing to take over the site for a few months now, won clear control of the site, only days before the internet group is expected to launch a $20 million push into Britain.
News Corp had lifted its stake to 51.5 per cent, gaining a voting majority despite opposition to its sweetened $2.50-a-share bid from the web company’s independent directors. The move comes as realestate.com.au prepares to close a deal to take a stake in a UK real estate portal.
