This is big step, at least symbolically: NBC will start streaming its flagship “Nightly News” online, at 10 PM EST/7 PM PST, on MSNBC.com, in its entirety. This is 3.5 hours after its EST TV broadcast, and right after the 6:30 PM PST broadcast in our zone here in LA.
The release says that past broadcasts will be archived on the site, though not sure how long back those archives will go. Also, not sure about the advertising..we’ll find out.
Also, this is bound to raise some more issues with affiliates, who were perturbed after Disney decided to offer some of its shows for sale on iTunes for the new video iPod.
