Indiainfoline: Nagpur, Maharashtra-based Lambent Technologies, a mobile applications developer, has announced the launch of Saarthi (Hindi word for friend), a mobile point of interest (POI) locator system, and a Friend Finder. It’s a mobile application designed to help mobile phone users search nearby places to meet friends.
Saarthi is a mobile POI locator system, which can be used as a personal navigator. Saarthi can determine location and provide users with details of the best and closest restaurants, shopping areas or essential services like ATMs, hospitals and police stations. Friend Finder is a mobile-based gpsOne-enabled application that helps users view restaurant menus, access detailed location maps and arrange appointments with friends.
Lambent is founded in 2000, and has more than 100 employees dedicated to developing innovative wireless applications using the BREW solution, with annual revenues from the sale of BREW applications reaching nearly $1.5 million. Lambent had showcased its wireless application offerings, developed for QUALCOMM’s BREW solution and currently available on the LG 5235, LG 6335 and Kyocera 434 devices launched by TATA, at the recently held BREW 2005 Developers Conference in Mumbai.
