Senior Product Manager is a key position in the Product Development
Group of MTV Network’s Digital Music Service.
The Product Manager is a key role in the Digital Music Group that works
closely with Production, Programming, Design, Software Development and
Marketing to create innovative consumer-facing interactive products to
deliver Digital Media assets to MTV Networks’ diverse audiences.
Senior Product Managers in the Digital Music Group report to the Group
Product Managers.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Product Management:
– Develop product requirements documentation such as treatments, user
flows, functional specifications, and site maps.
– Work with Tech, Production and Project Management to develop accurate
timelines and budgets based on Product Requirements.
– Manage ongoing maintenance, version rollouts, product enhancements and
production through product lifecycle.
Interaction Design:
– Serve as internal expert resource for information architecture,
usability, interface and product goals. Partner with Design to
conceptualize and mock up product interfaces.
Quality Assurance:
– Work with Tech and QA teams to insure Product performs according to
specification and fulfills business objectives.
Competitive Analysis:
– Track Competitive companies, products and industry news and trends.
Required Qualification/Skills:
Qualifications: Candidates must have excellent written and verbal communication skills,
and a track record of strong leadership.
Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of the competitive environment for
Digital Music and other Broadband Media: leading brands, competitive
products and major industry players; technical and legal issues
surrounding Digital Rights Management; and consumer “digital lifestyle”
trends.
Candidates must be flexible, capable of managing multiple projects in
parallel.
Candidates will be asked to submit examples of wireframe documentation
(Interface mockups, user flows, etc.) along with samples of written
functional specifications.
Experience
Candidates must have at least 6 years relevant experience in website
development and/or desktop application design.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in music applications
and/or music service development
