Micro-Targeted MVNOs Launching in Europe

The MVNO market in Europe is splicing up further into smaller niches: among the recent launches: GayMobile, a gay-community focused MVNO launched in Denmark. The parent company Sonofon also added a discount brand, CBB Mobil, a women’s brand, Kvinders.net. German operator E-Plus has divided into three brands–a discount brand called simyo.de, a mass-market brand called base.de, and a brand targeted at Turkish residents in Germany called Al Yildiz.
Earlier this month, Dutch PhoneMe launched a sub-brand targeted at cannabis usersPePtalk–with the motto: “Pep Your Addiction.”
Informer: This is the first time a mobile operator has gone after the homosexual community directly. Not only is this a sector with a high disposable income – and a reputation for being fashionable – but it is also fairly easy to target.
