Edmunds.com, Inc., the premier online resource for automotive information, is seeking a Sr. Product Director to lead its Edmunds.com website.
The Sr. Product Director will identify and execute on strategies that enhance the customer experience and drive site profitability. With over 70% of consumers researching their next car purchase online, this position will be responsible for developing an industry leading online product that offers consumers a superior user experience to help them choose the right car, get a fair price and contact the best automotive services through the web. Successful candidate will lead a cross functional team in planning, developing and implementing new initiatives and will be responsible for creating and executing the website product roadmap. Primary Responsibilities:
– Define website product vision, strategy and objectives, with an understanding of automotive industry direction and consumer online research needs.
– Create business plans including ROI analysis and competitive research.
– Be the steward for the Edmunds.com brand and evangelize the consumer’s needs.
– Manage website holistically: features, functionality, content, advertising and lead referral strategies to support desired consumer experience and maximize profitability.
– Lead a cross-functional team, including engineering, design, editorial, data and marketing to develop a leading-edge, competitive product in the marketplace.
– Manage and mentor Product Managers in the successful execution of their responsibilities.
– Establish criteria to measure success of product launches; use data and website analytics to support decisions.
– Assist EVP & General Manager of Edmunds Media division in creating successful B2C strategy and product roadmap and present finding/recommendations to Sr. Management.
Qualifications:
– 8+ years conceptualizing and executing consumer-focused internet/e-commerce Web sites, products, and applications
– Good balance of technical, management, creative, business and marketing skills.
– Ability to execute all aspects of the new product development process from developing the strategy to driving the implementation and launch plans.
– Spirit of an entrepreneur who can operate in a small company environment to get things done. Responds easily and well to a dynamic business and can maintain the appropriate level of flexibility as business conditions and needs change.
– Demonstrated experience integrating user-generated and/or editorial content into a successful website implementation.
– Familiarity with incorporating Search Engine Optimization techniques into product design and development process.
– Skill in building successful designs and web applications which take advantage of extensive content databases.
– Superior communication skills and ability to build relationships and collaborate with a variety of personalities on cross-functional teams
– Proven success at a comparable, high growth Internet company; ideally some e-commerce or experience building content-rich product reviews.
– Understanding of the automotive industry and online advertising marketplace is a strong plus.

Education: BA/BS required. MBA or equivalent preferred.
