Sprint Nextel’s new music-download service is going to launch Monday Oct. 31, reports Forbes.com. It will be supported by new mobile phones from Samsung and Sanyo. The songs cost $2.50 per track, and will be dual-delivery (available on the phones, over the air, well as online to the subscribers).
Sprint’s service will launch with an initial catalog of about 300,000 songs, from the four major music labels: EMI, Warner, Universal Music and Sony BMG.
This is among the first such full-track service to launch in U.S….Verizon’s is not suppoed to launch until next year. Cingular had a damp squib with the iTunes-Rokr phone.
