Agencyfaqs.com: Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) keeps releasing surveys in bits and peices. But when I went to their site, I couldn’t find this particular item in their press releases section or in the media news section. The survey says that 35% of Indians have bought gifts online and 34% intend to do so in future. What do they mean by this? Is it that 35 per cent of Internet users have bought gifts online? Most likely, that should be the inference. But my question is why cannot they be more coherent and clear in articulating such matters? Anyways, read the rest here.
35% of Indians have bought gifts online and 34% intend to do so in future. Online buyers in the age group 18-35 years were the highest purchasers of gifts, accounting for 77% of purchases, with 56% of the purchases being made by buyers in the 26-35 years age group.
Based on gender, 83% of the online gift shoppers are male, while only 15% are female. 47% of them are married and have kids, meaning that these purchases are made by the heads of the family.
City-wise, Mumbai and Delhi account for 44% of the online gift purchases, while Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata stand at 8%, 7% and 4% respectively. The smaller cities categorized as
