TheStreet.com posted 3Q05 earnings of $1.6 million or 6 cents per share on $8.2 million in net revenue compared to a loss of 5 cents per share in 3Q04. Third-quarter ad revenues of $2.1 million were up 26 percent year over year and represented the first sequential increase since 1999; the total number of new advertisers in that quarter surpassed the number added in the first two quarters combined. Additional ad-supported content helped send traffic up considerably, with a 13-percent increase in page views — 130 million for the quarter — and 32-percent increase in monthly uniques, which averaged 3.1 million during the quarter. More traffic, more ad dollars.
On the subscription side, TheStreet.com added 7,500-plus net premium subs; subscription revenue of $5.8 million was flat year over year but up 9 percent over last quarter.
