The day after the Korean government urged telcos to open their networks and threatened punishment if not comes news that incumbent telco SK Telecom has been fined 1.5 billion won ($1.4 million) for “discriminating” against other Internet portal companies in opening its wireless network. “The ministry also ordered KTF and LG Telecom to correct such unfair practices without imposing fines, citing that their levels of unfairness were ‘negligible’.”
