Two new reports/estimates released today on online video revenues, both bullish:
– In-Stat: It expects worldwide revenue, on both a subscription and pay-per-download basis, of non-adult video content to reach $2.6 billion by 2009. Customary analysts quote: “A thriving premium video market will develop over the Internet. RSS, audio podcasting, and upcoming video podcasting initiatives will certainly drive demand for lots more video on the Internet.” Release here..
– AccuStream: It sees a 109% increase in all audio/video media $1.378 billion in 2005, paced by music services enjoying revenue growth of 397% in 2004 and another 154% in 2005. The download side of the business is forecast at $832 million in 2005, with streaming subscriptions at $237 million. The total market is forecast to reach $2 billion in total revenue in 2006, with music, sports and entertainment subscription and download revenue leading all content categories. More here in release…
