I thought that this Aussie journo had picked up on 3UK’s big announcement and chased up the local version of the company for a story, but if so he was pretty quick about it…
There are some interesting quotes from the head of 3 Australia Kevin Russell…”Hutchison has more than 40 percent of its customers committed to using its content pack, a monthly subscription ranging from $2 to $7.50 to access a series of content services. Mr Russell says that 60 percent of Hutchison’s customers, about the same as use SMS, are accessing content services every month.”
The company is also focussing on photography, not just with 2 or 3-megapixel camera-phones but with “60 kiosks in our stores around Australia to let people print out their pictures at reasonable cost, and the service starts next week…They can walk into one of our stores, send the pictures from their phone to the kiosk by Bluetooth wireless and have their prints back in minutes.”
