The McClatchy Company turned in 3Q05 earnings of $38.6 million, or 82 cents a share, on revenues of $292.6 million, up 2.1 percent from 3Q04. Earnings were down a cent over the previous year because of a special charge for litigation; without that, McClatchy would have been up two cents. Hey, every penny counts.
Unfortunately, there’s not that much detail in the earnings release about online revenues save the ubquitous “strong” showing in real estate and job ads and “continued strength in all categories.”
